3rd Annual Business Administration Conference: Sustainability in Business Management

"The Third Annual Business Administration Conference (ABAC) on Sustainability in Business Management", organized by the Turkish-German University and Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences will be held face-to-face on 18 November 2022 in Istanbul.
Factors such as the depletion of limited natural resources, the raised awareness of consumers and societies and their influence on the market, and the digital transformation have increased the importance of the concept of sustainability in its environmental, economic, and social dimensions. The increasing importance has resulted in businesses trying to achieve the objectives that determine their economic performance (e.g., reducing costs, increasing profitability) by taking into account environmental and social concerns. Environmental awareness in businesses is achieved through activities such as using renewable energy, reducing energy consumption, green production, using recyclable packaging, good waste management, giving importance to reverse logistics activities, and reducing carbon footprint. The social dimension of sustainability in enterprises emphasizes, on the one hand, the factors related to the working environment itself, which covers issues such as the importance given to workers’ rights in contracts, employee wages, stance against child labor, health, and insurance rights of employees, and the reduction of accidents at the workplace. On the other hand, the social dimension of sustainability in enterprises hereby takes the impact of the factors on a society such as public health compatibility of goods, fair trade, and social responsibility endorsements into consideration.
In order to preserve an environmentally, economically, and socially sustainable world for future generations, enterprises must integrate these concepts into their corporate strategies, set sustainability priorities, and create and implement sustainability strategies and corporate strategies in a harmonious manner. In this context, the conference aims to bring both academics from different disciplines and practitioners together to discuss sustainability in the business environment from different perspectives.
