Dr. Guido Neidhöfer organized a Workshop on Wealth Inequality, Intergenerational Mobility, and Equality of Opportunity, held on November 21-22, 2024, at the WU-Wien (Vienna University of Economics and Business).
The event was a collaboration between the Research Institute Economics of Inequality (WU Vienna), the International Inequalities Institute (London School of Economics and Political Science), and ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research. It brought together approximately 40 leading researchers and experts to discuss critical issues surrounding wealth inequality, its measurement, causes, and implications. Furthermore, the workshop featured two public keynote lectures by esteemed scholars: Fabian Pfeffer (LMU) presented his insights on wealth inequality and intergenerational mobility, while Susan Dynarski (Harvard University) on inequality in education.
The workshop was further supported by notable institutions, including the Vienna Science and Technology Fund, the Jacobs Foundation, and the City of Vienna.
