Dr. Hüseyin Nuroğlu Delivered a Keynote at the 10th European Conference on Tobacco Control
Representing the Turkish Green Crescent Society (Yeşilay), Dr. Hüseyin Nuroğlu participated as a Keynote Speaker at the 10th European Conference on Tobacco Control (ECTC), organized by the European Network for Smoking and Tobacco Prevention (ENSP).In his keynote presentation, titled “The Economic Burden of Addictions: Evidence from Turkey and Global Implications for Tobacco Control,” Dr. Nuroğlu discussed the economic costs of addictions in Turkey and their implications for global tobacco control policies. He emphasized that addictions impose a significant burden not only on public health systems but also on productivity, employment, and public finance, highlighting the importance of evidence-based policymaking.
The conference brought together academics, policymakers, and civil society representatives from across Europe, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of tobacco control and addiction prevention.
