GEBF 2025 – Mannheim, Germany (January 27-30, 2025)

From January 27 to 30, 2025, Dr. Guido Neidhöfer participated, as one of the main organizers, in the annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Empirische Bildungsforschung (GEBF), held in Mannheim, Germany. The conference is one of the largest and most prestigious events in the field of educational sciences, attracting this year over 1,300 participants from various disciplines, including economics, sociology, psychology, and education, as well as education practitioners.

Dr. Neidhöfer organized a symposium titled Early Education and Inequality, which brought together leading experts to present their research on how early educational policies and interventions impact social and economic disparities. Further, Dr. Neidhöfer introduced and moderated a key highlight of the conference, namely the keynote speech delivered by Professor Emilia Del Bono from the University of Essex on “The trouble and value of socio-emotional skills”. The keynote address was followed by a commentary from Professor Michèle Tertilt, Professor of Economics at the University of Mannheim.

The GEBF 2025 program offered a wide range of sessions addressing various topics, including educational inequality, digital learning environments, teacher effectiveness, and the psychological foundations of learning.
