Turkish-German University Scholars Present at the First Spring Meeting of the Turkish Economic Association (SMTEA2025)

Our faculty members, Nur Banu Kartal and Guido Neidhöfer, presented their latest research at the Spring Meeting of the Turkish Economic Association (SMTEA 2025), held at Istanbul Bilgi University from May 29 to 31, 2025.

The conference, hosted by the Turkish Economic Association (TEA), brought together leading economists and early-career scholars from Türkiye and abroad to engage in discussions on a wide range of topics in economics. Featuring keynote addresses by renowned economists such as Daron Acemoğlu, Ufuk Akçiğit, and Jeffrey D. Sachs, the event offered a vibrant platform for academic exchange.

Nur Banu Kartal, research assistant at the Turkish-German University, presented a paper titled “How Do Relative Concerns about Well-being Vary by Patience? Evidence From Panel and Experimental Data”.

Guido Neidhöfer, senior researcher at ZEW Mannheim and faculty member at the Turkish-German University, presented the paper “Intergenerational Returns to Migration: Evidence from Italian Migrants Worldwide,” co-authored with Chiara Malavasi (University of Mannheim).
